Christ is born! Let us share the light and love of Christ.
Warm lights, a cozy latte by grandpa's fireplace, and a painting of a baby in a manger, surrounded by angels caroling. Christmas time is about warmth, fellowship, and most importantly: Christ's birth. During Christmas, Christians commemorate the light of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Messiah who was born by the virgin Mary, God's humble maidservant. This initiative aims to honor God's greatest gift to mankind: the Savior, who gave Himself up freely to save the world from their sins. In Hearts and Hooks: Crochet Initiative, our objective for this Christmas is to share the love of Christ to those fighting for addiction recovery.Â
In preparation for Christmas time, I spent my free time curating mini "care-kits" for those in Catholic Charities Talbot House. I crocheted keychains as a part of these kits which also consisted of Christian-inspired keychains, small packs of tissues, plant-based lip balms, and scented hand creams, as can be seen in the photos. 25 care-kits were arranged in colorful array, donated alongside 3 reusable farmer's market-style tote bags. I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to help my community and bring a small bundle of delight to individuals at Talbot House! In partnership with New Life Church of God Commack, all individuals receiving a care-kit were prayed over for their safety, wellbeing, and relationship with God. Overall, I look forward to donating again for the winter season to those in need of warmth and comfort and making an impact in the community!
